Canada Post has launched a national strike as of September 25, 2025 that is impacting mail services to and from the Town of Newmarket. During the strike, the Town is unable to send out or receive standard mail. Where possible, the Town will use alternate methods to deliver important time-sensitive correspondence, including electronic communication, courier services and hand delivery of mail.
During the strike, please access Town Services and make payments electronically (see options below) or in person at one of our Town facilities. For hours of operation, please visit Newmarket.ca.

The Town is committed to ensuring that services remain accessible with minimal interruption.
Final Property Tax Payments Due Dates
During the Canada Post strike, it is the property owner’s responsibility to ensure all property taxes are due on time. The last instalment was due on September 25, 2025.
Taxes can be paid online through your financial institution, in person at your financial institution or in person at a Town of Newmarket customer service desk.

- Parking Tickets & Bylaw Infractions — Pay online.
- Penalty/Parking Infraction Notices are still due on pre-set due dates.
- Speed Camera Fines — Pay online.
- Speed camera fines are still due on their pre-set due dates.
- Statutory Planning Notices — All notices will be posted on the the Town of Newmarket’s website under Public Input Opportunity on the homepage and Statutory Notices.
