The Town of Newmarket has postponed Mayor Taylor’s New Year’s Levée
scheduled for tonight (Friday, January 12) due to the anticipated winter storm
announced by Environment Canada – which is calling
for up to 25 cm of snow, gusting winds with near zero visibility at times.
The event has been postponed to Friday, February 2.
“We've been monitoring the weather forecast hoping that we could host this great event this evening, however given
the potential for dangerous and unpleasant conditions, we're postponing the
Levée out of an abundance of caution,” says Mayor John Taylor. “Please stay
safe, avoid unnecessary travel, and I look forward to celebrating the new year
with everyone on February 2.”
Mayor Taylor’s New Year’s Levée has been rescheduled to Friday,
February 2, 2024.
Date: Friday, February 2, 2024
Time: 6 to 8:30 p.m.
