​The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority advises that a series of low-pressure systems will bring mild temperatures and significant rainfall to the Lake Simcoe watershed beginning today (Monday) and continuing through Tuesday. Daytime temperatures are expected to range between 10 and 20°C, with overnight temperatures remaining above freezing until Wednesday night. Total rainfall of 30-40 mm is expected today through tomorrow, with locally higher amounts possible where thunderstorms occur. Winds up to 90 km/h are also possible.

While widespread flooding is not expected, the possibility for flooding in various low-lying areas of the watershed exists due to the expected rainfall and frozen ground conditions. There is also the potential for ice breakup and ice jams in some watercourses, due to forecast winds, particularly around bridges, culverts and outlets to Lake Simcoe.

Watercourses will be flowing higher than normal causing local streams and rivers to become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts and bridges. Children and pets should be warned to stay away from all watercourses.

This Watershed Conditions Statement will be in effect through Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, at 12 p.m., or until otherwise updated or cancelled.
