​The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement in effect until March 18. Warming temperatures are forecast starting tomorrow, along with rainfall over the weekend. Daytime temperatures are expected to range between +7 to +15 degrees, with total rainfall amounts of 15-30 mm for Saturday and Sunday.

All watercourses in our area will be flowing higher than normal. As a result, local streams and rivers will become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts and bridges. While widespread flooding is not expected, the possibility for flooding in various low-lying areas of the watershed exists due to the expected rainfall and melting of the remaining snowpack. Children should be warned to stay away from all watercourses.
